Mat Ministry
The Sleeping Mat ministry of CHBC was formed in April of 2016 by members of the church. The purpose is to provide sleeping mats to the unsheltered homeless in Cumberland County TN. This ministry is open to the community to join us.
We meet on the first Saturday of each month at CHBC gym from 9-11 am. We gather clean grocery bag donations from the community, flatten the bags, sort, cut, and loop the bags and crochet into mats. Instructions are attached. We distribute the mats to CF Storehouse on West Avenue where they can identify the individuals who are most in need.
